10 Rules for Being a Champion Player (No Matter What the Game)

We have all seen athletes who were bigger, faster, and stronger than the average player.
However, they were never champions. Many never even made it to the next level in their athletic career. They just didn’t know how to be champions.

So what makes a CHAMPION? 🏅
The champion isn’t just the one that won the game.
The champion is a person that has developed a system to produce continuous victories no matter who the opponent was.

Champions, no matter what the sport (or competitive event) is, all share some of the same tactics.
Those tactics include:

1️⃣ Commit to the win. That means letting go of things, and people, who do not help you win. If all they do is subtract from you, do not add them to your presence. Control your thoughts and do not think like a loser. Thoughts precede actions. If you fear, it is because you do not have knowledge… of your opponent(s), your strategy, and yourself.

2️⃣ Play the whole game. Everyone is good when the game first gets started. It is when everyone is tired, beat up, bruised up, and has reason to stop… that is when the champions come out to play. The game is not over until the clock runs out!

3️⃣ Take good care of your body. Do not abuse your body with liquor, drugs, food, or women. Keep your weight down and muscle mass up. Build up your endurance to elongated performance esp. in pressure situations. That not only includes proper hydration, but proper sleep, especially before game day. Leave sex alone the day before the big game.

4️⃣ Get to the game early. The axiom is: If you are early, you are on time. If you are on time, you are late. If you are late, you get left… because you will not do right!

5️⃣ Dig deeper than your opponent. Make your opponent want to quit. When you see your opponent hollering at their own teammates, or gasping for air, you know you are on the right track.

6️⃣ Stay focused. Do not let your opponent get into your head. Eliminate the distractions, including the ones you had from the night before. Do not leave it up to the official(s) to decide if you win or not. Sometimes they make bad calls. You do not have to worry about the bad call IF you make a good play.

7️⃣ Help your teammates do well. Like in life, most sports endeavors require teamwork, even if it’s just you and your coach. Be willing to listen to the people there to help you get better. They see some things that you do not see, but need to know. Help them do well by listening to them, and helping them fulfill their dream of your success. Help them to get better at what they do in their roles. Share your knowledge with them.

8️⃣ Be the best on the field/court/arena. Do not complain about the racism, sexism, and all of the other –isms that exist. Your job is not to make the call: JUST MAKE THE PLAY!

9️⃣ Study, prepare, and EXECUTE. The game, the opponent, the team, and yourself. Know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Decide what to do about them BEFORE the ball gets to you.

🔟 DO NOT PLAY YOUR OPPONENT’S GAME. Make him/her/them play your game. Keep them confused as to what you are going to do next. Do not let them get comfortable or in a rhythm. If you do not study your opponent, especially before game day, you will be confused and have a harder time being a champion.

💥 Time to LEVEL UP. 💥
CHAMPIONS aren’t lucky — they’re built different. 💯🏋️‍♂️
